Design StrategiesWhat design strategies might be used to help solve the design problem and how do they influence your design ideas Brainstorming (Mindmapping)is a way of putting original thoughts and ideas down on paper. You start off with with a Word in the centre of your page and you connect other words to it. These words are all related to your starting word. You then repeat the technique with each new word so that your Web becomes larger. This process allows you to quickly come up with a wide range of ideas. These drawings are often referred to as Bubble Diagrams or Spider Diagrams. ExamplesConcept MappingIs similar to Brainstorming. Each Bubble contains a word and on the line connecting two Bubbles is a Statement which also connects them. This helps you to check what you do know and what you don't need. SWOT AnalysisDesign Heuristics e.g.Graphic OrganisersGraphic organizers are an illustration of your thoughts on paper. They can help you brainstorm, organize, and visualize your ideas.
