Design Life Cycle
All products, services and environments have a life cycle. This is sometimes referred to as cradle to the grave, meaning the period from when it starts to when it finishes.
The diagram below illustrates the basic stages of a life cycle. |
Successful products usually go through a regular redesign, meaning that a newer version will be introduced to the market. Phones and cars are good examples of this. On average a new iPhone model comes out each year and a new Ford Fiesta about every 6 years. What happens to the older versions? |
