Cross Sections

To get a Cross Section of an object you need to imagine what it would look like if you cut it in half. Look at the image below. The right view is basically a Cross Section of the Apple.

To create a Cross Sectional view you need to indicate where the section line (or cut) has taken place. In the diagram to the right we can see that the Cup has been cut in half straight down the centre (along the X Axis)

 

A Centre Line is used to indicate the cut (short and long dashes)

 

Cross Hatching is used to show that we are looking at a sectional view. (45 Degree Angled Parallel Lines)
