Exploded Drawings are usually used to show how the separate parts of an object fit together and relate to each another. They are often drawn in Isometric.
It is important to line the parts up properly. In the Pencil Sharpener drawing you can see quite clearly that the screw goes through the blade and the locates into the body. The same is true of the Nut, Bolt and Washer shown below |
